I'm calling to + (verb) (मै काल कर रहा हु)

1. Introduction (Explain the Pattern)

Start with a simple explanation:
💬 Teacher: "When we call someone, we often have a purpose. We use ‘I’m calling to + (verb)’ to express why we are calling. For example:
👉 ‘I’m calling to ask about the job.’ (मैं नौकरी के बारे में पूछने के लिए कॉल कर रहा हूँ।)"

2. Real-Life Examples (Context-Based Learning)

💬 Teacher: "Imagine different situations. How would you use ‘I’m calling to’?"
Give common scenarios:

  • I’m calling to book a ticket. (टिकट बुक करने के लिए कॉल कर रहा हूँ।)
  • I’m calling to confirm my appointment. (अपनी अपॉइंटमेंट कन्फर्म करने के लिए कॉल कर रहा हूँ।)
  • I’m calling to complain about a product. (किसी प्रोडक्ट की शिकायत करने के लिए कॉल कर रहा हूँ।)

Encourage students to guess the purpose in each case.

3. Pair Activity (Role Play)

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Pair up students and give them different scenarios. One will play the "caller," and the other will be the "receiver."

📞 Example Role-Play:
🔹 Student A (Caller): "Hello, I’m calling to inquire about the English course."
🔹 Student B (Receiver): "Sure! What would you like to know?"

After practicing, swap roles to give everyone speaking practice.

4. Fill in the Blanks (Gamification)

Write incomplete sentences on the board and ask students to fill in the missing verb:
1️⃣ I’m calling to ______ (complain) about my internet speed.
2️⃣ I’m calling to ______ (order) a pizza.
3️⃣ I’m calling to ______ (ask) about the hotel room rates.

Encourage students to think of more examples.

5. Challenge Round (Quick Responses)

💡 Say different situations, and students must quickly respond using "I’m calling to + (verb)".
🗣️ Teacher: "You lost your phone. What will you say?"
👩‍🎓 Student: "I’m calling to report my lost phone!"

Make it a fun speed game! ⏳

6. Wrap-Up & Homework

✅ Ask students to write 5 real-life sentences using "I’m calling to + (verb)" and share them in the next class.
📌 Optional: Have students make real phone calls (to a friend, a hotel, or a shop) and share their experience.
